The Mansion of Dreams Spring Break Design Week
Spring Break Design Week Recap
During Spring Break, we hosted an enriching design week program for 7 students ranging from 7th grade to seniors. The week was structured to split the group into two teams: a design team and a branding team.
Design Team: This group focused on learning and honing their sewing skills. They worked diligently on designing and creating various pieces.
Branding Team: This group concentrated on developing the brand that everyone would represent. They worked on conceptualizing and establishing the brand identity.
Field Trips:
• REACH Art Studio: We spent several hours discussing the art services and classes available to students.
• Nelson’s Art Gallery: The gallery provided valuable insights into branding and logos.
• Alt Printing: On the last day, we dedicated the entire day to learning the art of screen printing.
Lansing Art Gallery: Serving as our host for this year’s program, we spent three productive days at the Lansing Art Gallery, where students engaged in various activities and collaborative projects.
By the end of the week, two students were inspired to continue with the brand “Holding Hearts” and are now selling their t-shirts. This week was not only about learning new skills but also about fostering creativity, teamwork, and entrepreneurship among the students.
